Krista Carlson

Krista Carlson is a native of Ord, Nebraska. She grew up on a ranch and spent much of her early life on horseback. In 1997, she married her husband and moved to central Nebraska to start a family and attend college.

She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2005. Krista graduated with distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2008. She served as an Executive Editor for the Nebraska Law Review and was a member of the Delta Theta Phi law fraternity.

Krista joined the law firm of Wolfe, Snowden, Hurd, Luers & Ahl as an associate in 2008 and became a partner there on January 1, 2015. While at Wolfe Snowden, she practiced in a variety of areas including railroad defense, insurance defense, landlord/tenant, wage claims, wrongful death and personal injury claims, guardianships and conservatorships, and family law. She was also the City Attorney for a community west of Lincoln.

On December 1, 2018, Krista left Wolfe Snowden to begin her own law firm and to concentrate on family law, including divorce, child custody, modification, and contempt cases. Family law has always been her passion, and it increasingly became the focus of her law practice until she finally decided to begin her own firm to specialize in divorce and custody work.

In the spring of 2026, Krista took the training to become a mediator and began volunteering with the Mediation Center. She also moved into the Cornhusker Bank where Mary Kay Hansen previously had her mediation center before Mary Kay retired. The Cornhusker Bank space is set up well with ample and comfortable room for mediations, whether the parties need to mediate in the same room or in separate spaces.

Krista understands the importance of involving the clients in their own case and making the process as transparent as possible. Krista lives in Ashland, Nebraska with her husband and their two dogs. They have two sons, one of whom is a mechanical engineer, and the other of whom is a computer and electrical engineer (and who is responsible for this website). Krista loves to travel, garden, paint, sample new restaurants, and watch scary movies. Krista is a published author and has contributed to the supernatural fiction genre. She has aspirations for continuing her work as an author when time permits.
